Alexis Yang is Co-Editor-in-Chief for the Matador and a senior at Smithtown High School East. This is her second year taking Journalism. As a journalist, she intends to educate the public in an unbiased manner. She is taking AP Literature and has been enrolled in honors English courses since freshman year. She is also the Co-President of English Honor Society and Co-Editor-in-Chief of Solstice Literary Magazine. Her main hobbies include creative writing, playing the guitar, and daydreaming. She received a national Gold Medal in the 2018 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for a short story and attended the 2018 Juniper Institute for Young Writers at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. Alexis’ favorite book of all time is The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger.
