Smithtown East’s business club DECA will be taking their annual trip to Rochester, New York, to attend the State Career Conference. From March 6 through March 8, members will present a variety of projects and skills before a panel of judges following months of preparation.

Competitions range from areas including entrepreneurship, marketing, finance and that’s just the beginning of the list. Students can choose events that spark the most interest for them and work up to a national level if they make it through regionals and states.

DECA Nationals, also referred to as  ICDC, is in Orlando, Florida this year, so students have been studying and preparing as best they can to secure a seat on the plane to Disney.

East’s DECA members represent all grade levels; whether freshmen or seniors, students are ready to expose their business sides.

DECA isn’t just a club for future CEOs and entrepreneurs. The organization participates in fundraisers, community service, and other periodic events.
