Swiftie Sweeps the World

On March 17th, 2023, Taylor Swift began her worldwide Eras Tour. Fans were expecting a night of cowgirl boots and red lipstick, but in turn, they witnessed sixteen outfit changes, stunts, and a tribute to all nine eras, blondie truly made the whole night shimmer.

Swift concerts are not like any other. She puts on an over 195-minute show with a forty-four song setlist, and an additional two surprise songs every show.

The show begins with an engaging introduction song from her album Lover, called “Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince.”  Following this, she continues throughout the Lover album, leading into Fearless, Evermore, Reputation, Speak Now, RED, Folklore, 1989, Taylor Swift, and finally Midnights.  During the performance, she keeps her fans on the edge of their seats waiting to see what the surprise songs will be. These songs were played after the album 1989

Not only do Swift’s audience attend the show, they go to meet one another.  Commonly known as “Swifties,” her fans create an inviting atmosphere, creating and sharing friendship bracelets. Fans acknowledge Swift’s positive impact, SHSE student Maya Robilotta said, “I’m so happy I was able to be there, it was such a life-changing experience and she made it very personal.”

Swift includes all age groups in her audience to the best of her ability, ensuring everyone has a great time. She gifts the hat she wears during her performance of the hit song “22” to one of her younger audience members.

Overall, it’s easy to see why her shows are so loved. So, will Swift be seeing you trading friendship bracelets at her next show?
