Gracie Abrams may look like the polar opposite to Taylor Swift, but the brunette brown-eyed sensation has been reaching new levels of success through Swift. 

Abrams is not new to the pop industry: she released one of her first hits “I miss you, I’m sorry” in 2020, and 3 years later put out her third album Good Riddance, which gained a stable fan base. However, her debut on the Eras Tour has propelled her to new levels of fame.  

Swift has been known to have an influential touch on other artists, with Abrams being no exception. Swift welcomed Abrams on her Eras Tour during its first months, bringing attention to the deserving star. Abrams’ time as an opener ended in July 2023. She took this as time to begin working on her latest album The Secret of Us. The influence from Eras Tour stayed with Abrams throughout the production of this album, even featuring Taylor Swift on the song “Us.”. This collaboration reflects Swift’s prominent influence on Abrams as a pop performer herself.

When the album was first released this past June, it scored her first No. 1 on the Billboard Top Album sales chart. While her last album, Good Riddance, did secure a place on this chart, it never reached the top ten. 

In October, Abrams released a deluxe version of The Secret of Us. This updated album features 7 additional songs, including 4 that have been heard before and 3 live-recordings. Like its original version, this deluxe album has gained much praise and attention from the public audience. On the newest U.S. leg of the Eras Tour, Abrams has taken a full circle moment and is now playing songs from her deluxe sensation. Between her young target audience, unique songwriting, and Swift’s influence, Abrams has become a musical sensation.
