Ever since The Summer I Turned Pretty came out, Smithtown East students have been debating one big question: Are you Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah? With Season Three dropping weekly episodes over the summer the debate has only grown louder: sparking online disputes from Instagram comment sections to Reddit threads. Everyone has suddenly become a relationship expert, fighting for their take on  who deserves Belly in the end.

If you haven’t watched the show, although I suggest you watch it, here is a quick summary. Every summer, the main character Belly and her family visit her mom’s best friend Susannah at her beach house. Susannah has two sons: Conrad, the older brother, and Jeremiah, the younger by one year.

Over all these summers of living together drama starts to unfold and the boys start to both develop feelings for Belly. Conrad is quiet and mysterious, but he has a huge heart, and Jeremiah (or “Jere”) is outgoing and loving, but he has flaws and impulsive decisions over time. Belly has no idea who to pick out of the two brothers and finds herself in so many conflicts throughout the seasons of the show. While Belly is deciding which boy to choose for herself, the debate doesn’t stop in the hallways of Smithtown East. People are analyzing every scene, and every word the brothers say, trying to prove which one is better. 

So no matter whose team you’re on, The Summer I Turned Pretty has become more than a show, it’s a summer obsession. So who really deserves Belly’s heart in the end? That’s for Smithtown East to decide.
