Club Spotlight: National English Honor Society

Smithtown East’s chapter of the National English Honor Society is composed of fifty of our school’s finest English students. Meetings are held in room 304 every Thursday at 2:30 P.M. Under the advisement of Ms. Kostopoulos and student co-presidents Grace Faulhaber and Lauren Silverman, NEHS students are able to enrich their love for English and the love of English in others.

One opportunity these students had to share this gift was through Smithtown East’s Spooky Hallways on October 26, where NEHS members were able to create bookmarks and other crafts with trick-o-treaters.

In the spring, NEHS plans to take a field trip to see a play in New York City. They also will be selling ornaments in Commons during student lunch periods in the days leading up to holiday break.

“I love being a part of such a great organization where we get to do fun activities while still spreading our love for English,” said co-president Grace Faulhaber.
